Dear BellSouth Pioneers,

It is truly an honor to join the BellSouth Pioneer organization as the new Region Vice President.  During my tenure at BellSouth, I have witnessed the incredible work of the Pioneers and the impact this outstanding organization has had on the communities where we live and work.  The BellSouth Pioneers have dedicated countless hours to service in the community and have contributed significantly to the strong community presence BellSouth enjoys today.

In today’s highly competitive environment, the BellSouth Pioneers are playing a crucial role in continuing our rich tradition of community service and corporate responsibility.  Now, more than ever, we need to strengthen this commitment to volunteerism and place a high value on not just the accomplishments of our Pioneers, but also the importance of supporting volunteerism as an important experience for our employees, retirees and their families.

I have seen first-hand the impact that our volunteers can have on individuals facing a crisis in their lives – whether it’s a serious health issue or helping someone rebuild their lives in the aftermath of a disaster.  These supportive efforts have a lasting impact on both the volunteers and the recipients of the service.

I look forward supporting you as we build on our history of service.  We have an exciting year ahead and there are a wealth of volunteer activities available for employees.  Our commitment to health and human services, education and technology-based learning will provide numerous opportunities for employees and retirees to support our efforts, and ultimately maximize our impact in the community.
